Artist's Backround
Born in Limerick 1978. I First started working in clay in my home town while attending the Limerick School of Art & Design. In 1999 I completed my Diploma in Ceramic Product Design in LSAD and went on to study at the Crafts Council of Ireland's Pottery Skills course in Thomastown. Following my training here I spent a number of years working as a production thrower for some of Ireland's leading pottery studio's. In 2003 I took some time out to travel with my trade. I worked in New Zealand and taught ceramics on a cruise ship travelling the carribean. I returned to Thomastown in 2005 to attend the second year of the Pottery Skills and Design Course and since graduating in 2006, have settled here and co-established Earthworks Studio & Gallery along with two other local potters, Caroline Dolan and Oonagh Anderson. I have been designing and creating my original work from here since 2007. I have won a number of prestigious awards for my designs and I am a selected member of CCOI's Portfolio. I exhibit my work in a number of Galleries and Fairs, both national and international and have been selected to exhibit again this year in Ceramic Art London 2009, one of the UK's Leading Ceramic Fairs.
